Dear Fellow Business Leader:

At our 8th annual Break-A-Thon, the students of Master Kim’s World Class Tae Kwon Do are supporting the local non-profit organization, Project HOPE Foundation – “leading the way with a spectrum of services for the autism community”. At this exciting event, our students will use their Tae Kwon Do skills to break 2012 boards. More importantly, they express their Tae Kwon Do spirit by giving back to their community. We are writing to invite you to become a supporter of World Class Tae Kwon Do’s premiere charity fundraising event to be held May 5th, 2012 at Advent United Methodist Church in Greenville, South Carolina.

We teach our students that Tae Kwon Do is more than a sport. To succeed in Tae Kwon Do, one must demonstrate exceptional character and dedication to self-improvement, family, and community. As we tell them, “each of us is responsible for all of us”.

Our students and their families have taken these words to heart, and participation grows each year, along with our fundraising success. One of the largest events of its kind in the country, our 2011 Break-A-Thon raised nearly $12,000. For a seven year total of over $82,000. Our students have achieved this remarkable accomplishment through tremendous dedication and effort, often going door-to-door in their neighborhoods and asking friends and family members for donations. Just imagine what we can do with your support.

On behalf of the hundreds of our students and families who have made the Break-A-Thon a success, and the many students and families who have benefited as a result, we invite you to become a part of the 2012 Break-A-Thon as a corporate sponsor or through a donation of a prize or auction item. Your support will not only benefit Project HOPE Foundation, you will set a positive example to our students – many of them youngsters – as they continue to learn the importance of giving back to their community.

Please download our sign-up form describing the many benefits of sponsorship at various levels. The most important benefit, of course, is making it possible to help more of the very special children and families who receive assistance from Project HOPE Foundation. We know that they’re counting on us. We hope that we can count on you.

Sincerely,

Master Jun Kyu Kim and Mrs. Michelle Kim

For the 8th year, Master Kim’s World Class Tae Kwon Do is hosting the exciting Break-A-Thon, an event that was started by Master Jun Kyn Kim to emphasize that character traits such as leadership, respect, and responsibility are essential parts of the spirit of Tae Kwon Do. This event has raised over $80,000 for local charities and we are honored to have been chosen as the charitable recipient of this year’s event.

Project HOPE Foundation leads the way in providing services to those living with autism through programs designed to:

Help Families,
Open Minds,
Promote Inclusion, and
Expand Potential.

Through our Hope Link program, we help families deal with the challenges of autism by providing information about autism spectrum disorders, including symptoms, therapies, interventions, services, and coping skills.

We open minds in our Hope Reach program by providing each child with 25-40 hours per week of individualized ABA therapy that focuses on language, behavioral, social, and cognitive skills. Hope Reach currently serves almost 80 children in both home-based and clinic-based programs, with the average service period for each child being 3 years. Hope Reach is the only nonprofit provider of this therapy in Upstate South Carolina.

Hope Academy promotes inclusion by giving children with autism the opportunity to learn side-by-side with typical peers in regular classrooms. Since its inception, Hope Academy has served over 1,500 children, building relationships that have changed the lives of both the typical and special needs students we serve.

Hope Alive is an innovative approach to expand potential of older youth and young adults with autism by developing new opportunities in the areas of academics, life skills, personal interests, vocational options, and diverse experiences. Through this program, we are developing strategies and curriculum that can be replicated throughout the country.

When Project HOPE was founded in 1997, the rate of autism was 1 in 2,500 children. Today, the rate is an alarming 1 in 88 children, 1 in 54 boys. The need for our programs has never been more critical. Give the gift of hope by generously supporting the students of Master Kim’s World Class Tae Kwon Do. You truly will make a difference in the lives of the children with autism and encourage the spirit of generous compassion so wonderfully fostered through this event. On behalf of the children and families served by Project HOPE Foundation, thank you. We hope to see you at the Break-A-Thon on May 5, 2012.

Sincerely,

Welcome! As a registered summer camper at Master Kim’s World Class Tae Kwon Do your child can look forward to an exciting and rewarding summer. We are sure that whether they will be with us for just a week or for the entire vacation, that they will make friends, gain new skills, and have fun. To learn more about the camp, please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the following information.

Drop off

Drop off begins at 7:30am. Please plan to bring your child into our facility and sign them in each day. If you know that your child is going to be late, please call to notify the Director. In addition, please be advised that campers not arriving by 9:00 on a field trip day will be the responsibility of their parent/guardian for the day if departure has already occurred.

Pick up

Structured activities, other than Tae Kwon Do, complete at 3:00pm. Pick up between 3:00 and 6:00pm is considered standard. All pick ups will be supervised by a staff member. The only people allowed to pick up a camper are those who have been previously identified on the camp registration form.

Attendance

Campers must be pre-registered prior to attending all camp days. If a camper wishes to attend camp during a week/ day that he or she was not previously registered for, attendance must be approved ahead of time by the camp director (prior to the date in question). Makeup days are not permitted. These policies are required due to the specific student to instructor ratios that must be maintained based on the attending number of campers. One week notice must be given if you need to withdraw from a registered camp. If notice is not given, there will be a $50 fee assessed.

Payments

Payment for camp can be done in one of two ways: payment in full or weekly payment that will be charged automatically to a debit/credit card. Any additional weeks or days that are added after the pre-registration period ends will be done only if space permits. Additional weeks or days must be paid for prior to attending camp.

Free Choice Time

During drop off period from 7:30am to 9:00am and pickup period of 3:00 to 6:00pm campers will participate in supervised free choice time. During this time board games, paper games, and art supplies will be available. Campers will also be free to use portable game, music, or movie players. Please make sure to label your child’s games etc.

Daily Lunch & Snacks

Daily lunch will not be provided by our camp. Campers should bring lunch for themselves packed in an insulated lunch bag with ice pack. One Day/week is Pizza Day! Pizza Day is determined based on Field Trip and activity schedules. The cost is $5 and includes: pizza, snack (ex. pretzels), a drink box, and popsicle. Money can be brought in with campers on Monday. Pizza is optional-if your child does not like pizza, please send him/her a lunch that day.

Reading Time

Master Kim’s World Class Tae Kwon Do promotes and encourages summer reading. Approximately 30 minutes of each day will be set aside for reading time. Children are encouraged to bring their own reading material. Summer workbooks can be done at this time as well. All campers can participate in Master Kim’s Summer Reading Program.

Tae Kwon Do instruction

All campers will receive 60 minutes of Tae Kwon Do skills and drills five days per week. This schedule will be flexible based on field trips. In addition, campers will be encouraged to attend 2 to 3 belt specific classes per week. Camp counselors will escort campers to and from their classes. During classes, students will be supervised by the Tae Kwon Do instructors of that particular class. Non Tae Kwon Do students will receive a uniform and private lesson and will participate in two Tae Kwon Do classes per week led by a Master Instructor. Special pricing is available for non Tae Kwon Do students who wish to sign a contract.

Tae Kwon Do Uniforms

Campers should leave his/her uniform at camp. Uniforms will be used during the camp Tae Kwon Do classes as well as regular Tae Kwon Do classes. Campers that are non Tae Kwon Do students will receive a private lesson and uniform as part of their camp tuition.
